1868-83 Hand Painted Purple Iris Royal Worcester English Botanical Cabinet Plate

$99.99

Brand Royal Worcester

Here is a beautifully hand painted plate by Royal Worcester.  This antique  cabinet plate features a delicately hand-painted Iris floral motif at the center. The artwork is rendered in soft lavender and purple natural tones with fine detail, including buds and slender green leaves.

The plate is richly decorated with an elaborate geometric brown transfer border, showcasing intricate designs in a radiating pattern. A bold magenta/cranberry/burgundy rim frames the piece, giving it a striking and elegant presentation.

The plate has a  British registration mark that dates it between 1868-1883.  I  addition it has an impressed mark attributing it to Royal Worcester.

A third mark is present. The purple crown mark reads:

“Made for Caldwell’s / Philadelphia”

This refers to Caldwell & Co., a well-known luxury retailer (jewelry, silver, and fine goods) active in the late 19th and early 20th century. They often commissioned fine china from European factories and sold it under their name.  A wonderful example of an export piece made solely for US high end customers.

Measures 9”

Condition: No chips or cracks, some minor wear around the rim
