Antique Polychrome Green Transferware Aesthetic Movement Soup Plate Rim Bowl Gildea Walker Melbourne
Here is a very rare & fabulously hand colored Aesthetic Movement transfer ware rimmed soup shallow bowl by Gildea & Walker. This is a classic example of pieces made during the Aesthetic Movement to which it dates. The pattern is entitled Melbourne. Very hard to find this pattern and in the green transfer with hand colored additions of pink, yellow, brown, green, blue and ocher. Marked on the reverse Melbourne G & W Late Mayer. This mark was used between 1881 and 1885. They also have an English registry mark for 1881!
