From E W & S (Enoch Wood and Sons) here is a rare yellow and brown bi-color transferware soup plate in the highly sought pattern Belzoni. After 1828, technology allowed potters to produce two and three color transferwares with yellow being the   very rarest of the colors.

This pattern, named for the Italian explorer and pioneer, Giovanni Battista Belzoni who began his career in Egyptian antiquities after a circus career as a strongman; The Great Belzoni. He is the circus strongman who discovered Egypt's antiquities.  He is most known for removing the colossal bust of Ramesses II from the Ramesseum at Thebes.  It took over 130 men and 17 days to move the bust to the river where it was loaded on a ship and sent to England.  Today, it is still on display at the British Museum in London.

After 1828, technology allowed potters to produce two and three color transfer wares.  This truly stunning example dating to 1835, by Ridgway is a very highly sought after piece in the Etruscan Festoon pattern.  Yellow is the very rarest color of transferware
