A one-of-a-kind altered vintage plate from the Fragments of Grace collection by Nancy’s Daily Dish.

This beautiful creamware cake plate features an embossed border of raised leaves and vines, framing a softly colored pastoral scene at the center. The handles are accented with touches of green, adding to the garden-like feeling of the piece. I’ve embellished it with jeweled leaf brooches at opposite corners, placed as though they have gently fallen onto the plate and become part of the original design.

The warm green, gold, and copper tones of the leaves echo the colors in the landscape scene and bring a quiet sense of movement to the piece — like a little moment of autumn caught and preserved. The raised creamware border gives the plate wonderful texture and depth, while the central scene feels tender and nostalgic.

Once imperfect, this antique Mason’s piece has been reimagined by hand and given a new story. Autumn Leaves is a reminder that beauty can remain even through change, and that by grace, what has been chipped, cracked, or overlooked can still be gathered into something meaningful again.
