From Spode's Field Sports series which was produced between 1890-1940 this circa 1930's sauce pitcher / gravy dish with artwork by J F Herring depicts aquatic plants and a different fish in each side. The border is my favorite thing about this plate being of mixed foliage and flowers. Parts of the scene and border are hand painted with shades of purple, red, mauve, yellow and taupe - brown. It is simply stunning!
