Large Circa 1930-40 Spode Copeland Rimmed Soup or Salad Bowl
RARE Burgundy lustre finish
Absolutely stunning, unusual and hard to find (the only one I've ever come across or seen) red transferware tureen with a burgundy/red lustre finish. The pattern entails a large vase hand painted a mustard-ish colored yellow, with botanicals to the side which are also hand painted. The border blends flowers and intricate scroll work.
I believe the pattern is Portland Vase though it also reminds me of Seasons. Both patterns were originally introduced in the early 1800's.
It is in wonderful condition free of chips, cracks, staining and very little crazing.
