Circa 1886

This stunning bowl was made by George Jones. It features intricately scalloped sides and is hand painted with gilded pink and yellow clematis, Sunflowers and lilies.  It is decorated inside and out.   It is scalloped and fluted around the rim.  The detail is stunning as is its condition, giving that it is over 135+ years old.  It dates to the Aesthetic Movement which you can read about here:

Condition is great…no chips, cracks some minor wear to the gilding 

The company began operation in c.1864 at Stoke Upon Trent at the Trent Potteries Works as George Jones and in 1873 became George Jones & Sons Ltd. They produced gorgeous majolica and earthen wares.
In 1907 the works was renamed Crescent Potteries.
George Jones died in 1893.


Measures  appx 8 1/2” 
Condition: No chips or cracks  There is fine crazing.   Some gold loss around the rim.
