Sadly, the vegetable dish to this lid arrived from England in several pieces so rather than toss the whole thing I saved the lid. They are perfect to use on a plate wall or rectangular tray, or as a necklace holder! I know some of you collect only lids and they make pretty and interesting pieces in wall arrangements. I thought this would be so sweet to hang necklaces (as shown), kitchen towel...maybe even the dog leash from the figural knob. It's a perfect size to hold several necklaces. All you'll need is an adhesive disc hanger (sold HERE).
This is Spodes ever iconic Tower pattern. It was first introduced by Spode in 1814 and was derived from a printed illustration in the book 'Views of Rome and its Vicinity' published around 1796-98. The Tower pattern depicts the Bridge of Salaro near Rome. The pattern has been in constant production from its introduction over 200 years ago!
