Blue Polychrome Demitasse Cup and Saucer / Bowl
Spode Byron

From one of my all time favorite transferware patterns, I am offering this wonderful demi cup and shallow bowl / saucer from one of Englands finest potters...Spode. The pattern is called Byron. Each piece in this series features a different pastoral scene...based loosely on the poetry of Byron himself. Equally interesting, is that this pattern was never (to my knowledge) introduced into the United States...so even if you do come across it, most likely pieces are located in England.
The saucers can also be used as small berry bowls.

The border is a blue transfer intertwined with bundles of grapes amongst lush ivy. The scene on the bowl depicts two men in a row boat. The cup features two different cottages, one on the outside and one on the inside rim.

The detail in this piece is exquisite and has been painstakingly hand painted in large part with hues of gold, green, blue and red.

Condition is good. No chips or cracks. There is a little crazing present.
Measurements: Bowl/Saucer is 4 3/4" x 7/8" deep / Cup is 2 3/8" tall x 3" handle to rim

Don't miss this opportunity to add a rare piece to your collection!!!
