Antique Hall Ware Enameled Polychrome Brown Transferware Pitcher

$64.99

This antique water jug was made by A J Wilkinson Ltd.   It is marked 'Ye olde Hall Potteries' and was produced from the early 1900's to c.1930 - a number of designs were produced under this name.

Originally it was most assuredly part of a bath set to include a slop pail, a shaving mug, a razor box, a chamber pot and  soap dish, wash basin and THIS pitcher. The pitcher would have been stored and displayed sitting in the wash basin when not in use.   These pieces are beautiful reminders of past times, whether you use for display in your bathroom, bedroom or repurpose as a beverage pitcher, utensil holder or other use elsewhere in the home.  When I put fresh flowers or greenery in my antique pitchers I normally line them with a plastic bag and fill it with water and then put the flowers in.

The body features a matte taupe / light tan finish.  The dark brown transfer is highlighted with enamels, ha d painted, in light blue, yellows and ponks.  It is decorated all around in a chintz / sheet pattern.
