Brown Transferware Cattle Scenery Cup and Saucer
Here is a beautiful brown transferware Teacup - Coffee Mug by J&G Meakin, of Staffordshire, England in the Romantic England pattern. This scene is of a cow grazing in a meadow alongside a stream with a rock covered bridge. The background encompasses rolling hills and an English castle. The border is a blend of beautiful roses and victorian scrolls. This cup and saucer is in wonderful condition, no chips or cracks and minimal, if any, crazing.
Measures appx. 4" across from rim to handle and 3 3/8" high.
Condition: No chips or cracks, some very minor crazing is present
Marked Romantic England Ironsone j & G meakin England dishwasher safe (dates to 1960's-70)
This pattern is becoming very hard to find. I love the wonderful cattle scene . . . so serene! A must for the brown transferware or cow collector!
