Vintage English Ironstone Advertising Teapot Isaac Walton Clothing Manufacturers
$229.99
Brand Crown Devon
Here's a wonderful example of advertising pieces that are so collectable now. This vintage 20th Century teapot was made in the Staffordshire region of England by Crown Devon. It is advertising Issac Walton & Co, Clothing Manufacturers, 97, 99 and 101 Newington Causeway, S E London. As the clothing trade reached new heights of competitiveness in the 19th century, this was reflected in the advertising of the day. Stores would announce the availability of the latest styles and most-up-date accessories in leaflets, advertisements on the sides of vans or on sandwich boards and in newspapers and magazines. This has been illustrated on the Teapot. Very difficult to find!
The same design is on each side of the pot.
Height: A little over 6" to top of lid x about 8.5" handle to spout
Condition: No chips or cracks, crazing is present with a little discolouration to the bottom of the teapot, as shown in the photo with the makers stamp.
