This one-of-a-kind altered Johnson Brothers piece features a lovely polychrome fruit study, hand-painted within the confines of the transfer, with grapes, pear, pomegranate, and softly colored blooms gathered at the center. The delicate brown transfer floral sprigs around the border give the piece a gentle, old-world elegance, while a trio of jeweled beeshas been added among the fruit, bringing sparkle, movement, and life.

I love the sense of abundance in this piece — the way the bees seem drawn to the sweetness already there.
