Brand Ralph Stevenson

Swiss by Ralph Stevenson
circa 1810-32

For consideration is this early 19th Century plate by Ralph Stevenson of Cobridge, Staffordshire England in the Swiss pattern.  This pattern is also known as Swiss Scenery and variations of it were also produced early on by Joseph Stubbs and Podmore Walkder.

The plate is a pretty shade of purple / magenta and depicts a lovely, romantic Swiss Chalet nestled up against a lake and has a floral and vine border with cartouches containing vases of flowers.

Condition is very good with some crazing, stilt marks on back

Measures 9 5/8"
