Red / Pink Transferware Plate Spode Archive British FLORAL Botanical Flowers
This product is unavailable
From Spode's Archives is this lovely red floral plate. From the online Spode Exhibition, “This series, named simply Floral, was introduced by Spode about 1830 and continued under the subsequent ownership of Copeland and Garrett. It is considered the rarest of Spode's three floral pattern series. The patterns all have the same border of alternating natural flowers and stylistic floral medallions, but a range of different floral specimens was used for the central feature. Many examples printed in green survive, suggesting that this was a popular color for the pattern.”
Measures: just under 10.5"
