From the Colonial Pottery located on the border of two of the Staffordshire towns, Stoke and Fenton, is this plate depicting a pheasant amidst cherry blossoms done in black transfer from the Aesthetic Movement period. The plate was made by F. Winkle and Co. who operated the Colonial Pottery at Whieldon Road in Stoke on Trent from about 1888-1931.

The black transfer has hand painted hues of pink, coral, green, pale yelow and blue and is bordered with more Cherry Blossoms and a geometric border.

Measures 10"

Condition: no chips or cracks. Tiny nick to the back which does not show from the front/top. There is crazing, commensurate to age, along with an overall light browning in the glaze...not significant and adds to the patina of the plate.
