Vintage English Country Spotted Oxford Sandy Pig w/ Piglets Planter Figurine Japan

Brand Nancy's Daily Dish

This cute pig planter is called the Oxford Sandy and Black.  It’s is a docile breed of originating in Oxfordshire. Named for its colour, which is a base of gold/sandy brown with black patches, the breed is also sometimes called the "Plum Pudding" or "Oxford Forest pig."It is related to two old breeds, The Tamsworth and the Berkshire and it is one of the oldest pig breeds native to Britain. Twice it has nearly become extinct but efforts from a pig breeding association has thwarted that outcome so far.

As I have run across bull / cow and dog figurines I've come across a few hog / pig ones from the same 1940-50 era. I've decided to pick them up when I see them, which isn't too often, and offer them on my website.  So, here we have a highly detailed pig with piglets flower pot figurine.  It is so realistic looking.  This is a vintage piece made in Japan and still shows the mark on the bottom.  It is a very difficult to find piece!  Perfect in French or English country decor, or any Farmhouse style kitchen.
