This striking dark brown transferware platter is very indicative of the love that the Victorians held for nature and oriental design.  I love the unique Tudor florals and the symmetrical way they are displayed around the platter leaving the center plain.  It's one of my favourites.
It was made by T G & F B (Thomas Gilbert & Fred Booth) and the pattern is called Lucknow
Circa 1883 with a British registration mark 
Measures: 18" x 14"
Condition No chips or cracks, there is age related crazing 

Earthenware and ironstone manufacturers at the Church (Bank) works in the High Street and at the Highgate Pottery, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent

• The partners were the brothers Thomas Gimbert Booth and Fred Booth
• As well as the pottery manufacturing business the brothers were Glass, China and Earthenware dealers and merchants.
• The partnership was dissolved on 1st January 1887 amd Thomas Gimbert continued on his own account. 
  Later became Booths Ltd
