Brand Brown, Westhead and Moore

For consideration is this pretty transfer ware plate made during the Aesthetic Movement. It has an all over floral stems & leaves sheet pattern in a soft brown transfer overlain with a darker brown transfer of a trio of carnations. The carnations are hand painted in shades of green, teal, pink to maroon and yellow. The plate is scalloped and gilded at the outer rim.
The plate was manufactured by Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co of
Hanley at Cauldon Place, Staffordshire, England.
B W M were manufacturers of high-grade earthenwares and porcelain Circa 1864-1904.

The registration number on the back, 8016, dates this to 1884, the first year registration numbers were assigned and used to help prevent copying of designs.
It is also hand numbered R 2704



Measures: 7 1/2"

Condition: no chips or cracks. Some wear to the gold trim. Absolutely Gorgeous condition!
