Rare, antique Teal Blue & Brown 2 color Transferware Plate

"PECHER" / Peach Harvest

Circa 1890-1902

This antique German transferware plate features one of the most unique designs I've seen.    The scene is a wonderful harvest scene within a peach leaf shape and depicts a man filling baskets with freshly picked peaches from the orchard.  It reads "PECHER" at the bottom and has a small 1 just under the leaf (this is no. 1 in a series of 12 plates).  Each plate in the series features a leaf shape representing the fruit or nut tree from which it is being harvested.  The rest of the plate (outside of the leaf shape) is an all over, tiny chintz / sheet pattern transfer in teal blue-green of small berry branches. and leaves.

Measures 7 3/4"

Condition: No chips or cracks. There is  typical, age related crazing present.

Marked: With a shield and crown which reads Made in Germany and impressed K3 into the earthenware
