Antique English Transferware Plate Blue Ribbons Swags and Roses

$24.99

Brand Ridgways

This product is unavailable

The white bodies have a slight flow int he blue transferware of swags, scrolls and ribbons and roses. The pattern is elegant and beautiful.

These stunning plates are by one of my favorite potters, Ridgways of Staffordshire. Ridgways is part of the huge Ridgway firm that had eight or so factories in the Staffordshire region. Ridgways is the only factory that used the name in a plural form. This factory was in Shelton from 1879-1920 when these plates were made.

Measures: Just over 9.5"
Condition: No chips or cracks, there is some crazing and wear to the gold trim that is at the outer rim. When Iisted these I had 8 plates. Each plate has minor factory imperfections on the back such as a glaze pop, stilt mark (not an imperfection). Nothing at all significant.

Marked: Ridgways England Royal Semi Porcelain Lorraine
