Brand George Jones & Sons

Staffordshire Minty Apple GreenTransfer Ware Side Plate
George Jones & Sons
Shannon

Circa 1930's

These pieces have an elegantly embossed border or flowers, leaves and feathers which is trimmed with a delicate green transfer. Absolutely gorgeous detail without being busy. Some of the prettiest I've seen. These would be wonderful to mix and match and layer with other transferware or dishes.

The company began operation in c.1864 at Stoke Upon Trent at the Trent Potteries Works as George Jones and in 1873 became George Jones & Sons Ltd. They produced gorgeous majolica and earthen wares. In 1907 the works was renamed Crescent Potteries.
George Jones died in 1893.
