Brand Adams

“Adams potteries produced a series of dinnerware from engravings of paintings done by artist Francis Wheatley, born in Covent Garden in the mid 1700's. This is the series for which the artist is most remembered, painting London's street vendors selling their goods.

This teapot depicts two scenes, one on either side. On one side is the scene entitled “Knives, Scissors and Razors to Grind”   and on the other is, “A New Love Song, only Ha’penny a Piece”

It is a beautiful black transfer painted touches of green, blue, pink/red and yellow on the scene.
