Blue & White Transferware Handled Wine Bucket / Cache Pot or Tureen Chinoiserie Landscape
Perfect to chill a bottle of wine at your next dinner party or to use as a flower pot, large dip or sauce tureen. One of my favorite patterns is this, Landscape by Midwinter. This piece originally would have belonged to a large supper set where a main course like soup would have been served from it. It would rest on a huge lazy susan with four crescent shaped serving dishes encompassing it. I collect this pattern for my son Trevor, but in a different colorway. It's a striking pattern with a unique geometric border surrounding a scene with couple strolling through a garden appearing somewhat Oriental in nature. There's a bridge and gazebo in the background.
This comes with a lid which has a slot for a ladle or spoon so it could double as a small soup or ample sauce tureen. It would be pretty as a potpourri bowl as well.
Measures appx 9 1/2" handle to handle x 5 1/2" high without lid. It’s about 8” high with the lid on.
No chips or cracks, some crazing and light discoloration in center
