This gorgeous transferware celery dish is hard to find!  The monochromatic blue transfer on this dish is a tranquil waterway scene with an elaborate foot bridge over a serene waterfall. A pair of swans gather under the bridge in the foreground while a sailboat drifts in the background. A large urn of enormous flower blossoms adorns the right of the scene, and a manor house with turret and gazebo is at the left. In the background there are mountains, buildings, and islands, and trees are scattered appropriately throughout this lovely scene.

Measures:  11 5/8" x 5" x  1-3/4"  deep.

It is stamped in blue with a circular mark "Tonquin" Royal Staffordshire Dinnerware by Clarice Cliff/ Made in England and there is an embossed 532 at the left. This mark was used circa 1945 to 1964.
