 For consideration is this rare, wonderfully colorful collector plate by Royal Doulton Seriesware,  It is a fine, early plate with a printed and hand tinted print after a hunting scene by Hugh Thomson which was featured in the 1897 Pears Annual 'A Tally-ho Idyll'.  The series was first introduced in 1903 and withdrawn by 1928. In good condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Printed Royal Doulton marks and painted D2215

This piece is titled "The Meet, Riders Mounting" and depicts an English female equestrian rider / hunter and two male hunters/riders dressed in full hunting style as they meet for a Fox hunt and prepare to mount their horses.  It is beautifully enameled and highly detailed in rich colors with a gilt rim. This is one of four plates in this series, known as Thomson series, each depicting various stages of the hunt.

Measures appx 10.5"

Condition:  Excellent, there are no chips, cracks, little crazing.  

Very hard to find!
