Cocorico! Vintage Pair of Chippy Antique Gold Finished Metal Gallic French Rooster Plaques e coq gaulois
Celebrate your love of France, roosters and timeless, vintage decor with this pair of metal Gallic rooster plaques. The pair is finished with an antique'd gold and has naturally matured to a chippy finish over time. The Gallic rooster, or in French, the le coq gaulois, is an unofficial national symbol of France as a nation, as opposed to Marianne representing France as a State. The rooster is also the symbol of the Wallonia region and the French community of Belgium. Additionally, in both France and Wallonia the French onomatopeia for the rooster crowing sound, "cocorico" (cock-a-doodle-doo) is sometimes used to express national pride!
Bring some rustic European elegance to your kitchen, dining room or any room in the home. These would be lovely flanking a platter, plate, mirror or over a painting. Lots of wonderful ways can be conjured up for displaying these beauties.
