Colorful Wedgwood 1880’s Brown Transferware Plate Birds on Branch Vase of Flowers Castle
Here is one of the prettiest Aesthetic Movement transferware plates I've come across. It is so colorful! Breathtakingly beautiful!
AESTHETIC brown and Painted TRANSFERWARE DINNER PLATE
Staffordshire England Circa 1880's
The clear and crisp EDINBURG pattern features a fantastic banded geometric border which frames a center scene of adorable birds nestled amongst the dogwood branches seeming to overlook a moonlit castle set in a cartouche below. In the foreground is a large handled urn filled with big roses and other flowers. The brown transfer has painted shades of turquoise, yellow, gold, orange, and green. Truly a beautiful piece!
