HUGE Antique Clobbered Brown Transferware Staffordshire Thanksgiving Turkey Platter Royal Cauldon 22"

$399.99

Brand Royal Cauldon

This humongous platter is trimmed with gold and depicts a stunning wild turkey with a border of foliage around 1910.  It is transfer printed in brown and hand painted with enamel in a profusion of  color.  It was made in 1910 by Royal Cauldon of England.

It's in good condition, having a visible hairline with which was repaired  with several staples.  There is a  little wear to the golden trim, though not much, and only some crazing with faint darkening in craze lines.

Measures: 22" x 18" this baby will hold a 25+ pound bird...I know because I've served on one of these! (Also listing one a bit smaller at just under 20" wide)

See my blog posts to learn more about English Transferware. I was featured (and this platter to!) in the Nov 2011 issue of Romantic Homes magazine where I discussed turkey themed transferware:

I have seen this same Cauldon turkey platter sell on other websites and at auction for $849-1199.
