A one-of-a-kind altered Gien platter from the Fragments of Grace collection by Nancy’s Daily Dish.

A delightful little piece of French culinary history, this vintage Gien platter features Le Mixed Grill, a charming French recipe surrounded by elaborate black transferware flourishes, delicate flowers, and a sweet cow peeking out from the ornate design. The beautifully illustrated lettering and whimsical details give it the feeling of an old French country cookbook brought to life on porcelain.

Along one edge, I've added a delicate floral embellishment with soft green leaves, tiny blossoms, and pearl-like details, carefully chosen to echo the flowers already woven into the original design. It feels as though a little sprig has grown right out of the printed decoration, adding dimension and a touch of unexpected beauty without taking away from the platter's original charm.
