Framed Antique Needlepoint Picture Roses Flowers in Deep Walnut Frame
I spotted this custom framed needlepoint remnant on a recent antiquing trip. It depicts a Rose, Pansy and I believe Jonquil or Daffodil against a neutral taupe background. It is beautifully framed in a 3" deep frame (like a shadow box but the glass is against the needlepoint itself rather than away) with a walnut stain, black highlights around the inside of the frame as well as a light gilded pattern around the part of the frame closest to the needlepoint. It is beautiful. In fact, it's hanging in my bedroom for the time being. Perfect for your English Country Cottage or Farmhouse decor! Flowers are in shades of deep rose, burgundy, pink, lavender, purple, greens, gold, yellow. Looks lovely with a collection of plates and platters around it, as shown in the photos.
Condition is great for its age, no chips, cracks or repairs. Only some minor paint loss to the paints green edge and some typical crazing attesting to its age.
Measures: Overall Frame is 14 1/8" x 12" x 3" deep Opening is 9 3/4" x 7 5/8"
Condition: Free of chips, cracks and little if any crazing
* @nd photo shows this in an arrangement of polychrome transfer pieces with pastel shades...all of which are all for sale.
