Circa 1892-1920 Antique Teal Duck in Landing Plate

Here is a very beautifully hand painted Limoges plate. It depicts a wild, teal colored duck in a landing position.  Below is a pond with a lily pad and flower and some other water reeds and grasses.    You can see the layers of paint, especially when turned to the light at an angle.  Gold raised encrusting outlines the vegetation and highlights the duck. Gilding embellishes the scalloped rim further.  It is truly a beautiful plate painted by a skilled artist.


Marked:  The set is marked A K Limoges France. Klingenberg France, ( A K ), a Limoges factory which manufactured with this green underglaze mark between 1890 and 1910.

Condition:  Some gold loss to rim, no chips or cracks. Very nice!
