Bucolic Scenery

For consideration is this stunning, English transferware plate dating between 1891-1920 by Alfred Meakin. It has a gorgeous relief / embossed type border reminiscent of Victorian lace with big leaves and flowers (I believe they are Morning Glory). The border frames the stunning image of people conversing around a picket fence after gathering hay. A modest cottage stands behind them with cows grazing in the pasture further back, and far off in the distance a church steeple peeks above the trees.



Measures: 8 3/4"

Condition: No chips or cracks. There is some crazing, commensurate to age.
