Titled: Defense de se Pencher (Defense to lean) Leaning in for a Kiss
Edmond Adolphe Rudaux was a French painter and etcher of genre scenes. He was born in Edmond Rudaux studied art in Paris under Lanielle, LeClaire and Boulanger. His first exhibition of art at the prestigious Paris Salon was in 1863. Throughout his career as both a painter and an original etcher, Rudaux concentrated upon charming scenes of romance and rustic occupations.
I've had this in my collection for 25 or so years. It is a very detailed etching printed and framed in a gold frame. It features two inner mats that are a shade of muted purple-pink and then has a gold and black fillet (small wooden lining) and the larger off white mat.
Perfect for a bedroom or master bath in a French inspired setting or home.
Measures: The overall size of the piece is 38 3/4" x 33 1/2" x 2"
Condition: Gently used, no significant signs of any damage to the print at all, some minor wear around the outside of the frame. Ready to hang with picture wire intact.
