I just love the scene on this extra large, oval serving platter from Burslem, Englands Wood and Sons. The tray depicts a modest thatched cottage standing hillside behind a picket fence with children playing outside the gate. To the left of the cottage, swans are seen in the pond below and up the hill, on the right, is a herd of grazing sheep. The setting is nestled into the hillside. Very quaint and picturesque! ThIt has a pretty peony floral border.
Perfect for display or use and would be a great gift for the collector of purple transferware as this is a difficult to find piece, and pattern.
Measures 14 1/2" x just under 13"
Condition: No chips or cracks, there is a little crazing present, commensurate to the age of this piece
