RARE Antique Adams Shakespeare Illustrations Polychrome Lustre Transferware Covered Cheese Dish

This classic piece by Adams depicts features several Shakespearean illustrations on it.  It is a creamy colored earthenware body transfer printed in black and handpainted under the glaze with a lustre finish over the handle and around the base. There are two drilled holes under the handle for venting allowing the cheese to breathe.   VERY HARD to find piece!

Death of Brutus

Othello and Desdemona

Fleeing From Bottom

The Roses of York and Lancaster

Marked on bottom (note the spelling!)

Measures: 9" x 1.5" deep
Condition: small chip on underside of undertray.  This does not show unless you turn it over to see it.
