BI COLOR YELLOW & BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATE
Circa 1830-40 Ridgway
For consideration I am offering this stunning plate from Staffordshire England in a rare two color transfer. This piece is attributable to Ridgway. After 1828, newly developed technology allowed potters to produce two and three color transfer wares. The pattern on this set is so delicate. The yellow/gold transfer is reminiscent of tiny diamond shapes in an all over sheet pattern with lots of scrollwork. The border of the plate and its face features hand painted pink roses / flowers amidst the scrolls. Simply beautiful and a rare find!
Measures: appx 6”
Condition: No chips or cracks, mild crazing,
*Last photo is of matching teacup and saucer sold separately
