VINTAGE, ENGLISH, BROWN POLYCHROME TRANSFERWARE BALL VASE

MALING

Newcastle on Tyne
Circa 1949-60

This beautiful and unusual vase was made by Maling of England and the pattern is Corinth (a city and former municipality in Corinthia, Peloponnese, Greece) and depicts mountains in the distance, a sailboat and island trees including a type of palm. The opposite side depicts a Grecian gazebo of sorts. The brown transfer is hand painted (under glaze so it won't come off) in rich hues or red, green, pink and yellow. STUNNING!

I absolutely love this vase and have collected three for my collection over the past 10 years. I use my red one to display a collection of antique letter openers on my office desk. This would also be great for pens or pencils.

Measures: 6.75" tall x appx 5" wide at widest point

Condition: No chips or cracks, little crazing
