Brand Spode

EARLY SPODE COPELAND BYRON

PASTORAL TRANSFERWARE CAKE PLATE / SAUCER

Stunning and unusual colors!  Hard to find this Spode pattern in this colorway!

The idyllic scene is full of cottage charm and depicts a rural English farmhouse with either a passer by or perhaps a Mother giving her little boy a drink of water from a jug...with the family dog patiently waiting his turn! =) The border is a flowing blend of ivy growing on lattice.  A beautiful color combination of gold, Robin's Egg blue, aubergine/burgundy which are hand painted within the confines of the brown transfer.  The plate is trimmed with a hand painted reddish brown/burgundy enamel.
