How the Cow Ate The Cabbage Majolica Butter Tub

A lovely, vintage Secla Portuguese majolica butter tub covered with cabbage leaves and a dairy cow resting on top of it.  It's so cute! Perfect for any French or English Country kitchen!  I have one almost identical that I use regularly!  These are hard to find, especially the cabbage leaf shaped ones with the cow on top.

Secla is made by The Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro Factory in the district of Caldas da Rainha of Portugal. Secla stands for "Sociedade de Exportação e Cerâmica, Lda." SECLA originated in the Rainha Majolica district of Portugal and allowed local ceramic artists to develop their style and export their ceramics to the US and UK markets
