Brand Spode Copeland

ANTIQUE AESTHETIC MOVEMENT BROWN POLYCHROME TRANSFER WARE PLATTER

Daisies and Butterflies pattern

W. T. Copeland / Spode
Stoke Upon Trent
Staffordshire England
Circa 1880's

For consideration is this exquisitely detailed bowl by Copeland/Spode in the Butterfly and Daisies pattern (most pieces have a butterfly on them...some of the smaller ones have flowers like this) . The rich, chocolate brown transfer is painstakingly painted by hand in deep, jeweled tones of turquoise, chartreuse, sienna, rust, pink, taupe and gold. Lustre finish. A single blooming rose and three rosebuds on a long stem adorn the face. Truly an incredible piece in every sense of the word.

Dates to the 1880's
