Vintage English China Square Purple Transferware Plate Romantic England Grazing Deer Penshurst Place
SCALLOPED PURPLE TRANSFER WARE PLATE
J & G Meakin
For consideration, here is a plate in one of the most beautiful and sought after patterns in transferware. It features a stunning view of Penshurst Place, Kent 1341 with deer grazing quietly on the lawn. Artwork is by Frank RIgger. Penshurst is the home of Sir Philip Sidney, a poet and soldier. The border is gorgeous, being of vines and ivy, berries and florals...one of the most beautiful and intricate in detail. It is very rare to find this pattern in purple!
Measures: 7 "
Condition: No chips or cracks. There is crazing, commensurate to age.
