Staffordshire Hand Painted Brown Transfer Ware Plate

Royal Cauldon
Lake Scenery
Circa 1930's

If you are a collector of transferware, here is a real treat...an 8.5" square shaped antique plate from a rare series of by Royal Cauldon. This plate looks a lot like creamware with an all over impressed/embossed design done with much intricacy and detail. The plate depicts two mean and a long horned bull crossing over an arched rock bridge. Directly around the scene is a beautiful scrolled detail. The entire scene is then framed by the embossed sunflower and floral scrolled border that really makes it stand out. STUNNING. The brown transfer scene is hand painted with shades of green, gold, brown, yellow, burgundy and blue.

The plate is in great condition for its age, very fine allover crazing and some allover coloring/slight darkening of the glaze. It has a gorgeous patina.
