West Point Military Academy
The plate depicts the an early scene dated to 1831 of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Plate is dated 1933. The border is highly decorated and detailed with several cartouches with uniformed cadets or soldiers and dates of 1825, 1848 and 1930. Between the cartouches are emblems depicting maps, weaponry, drums, etc. At the top is the emblem with an eagle over a crest and a banner which reads, "Duty, Honor, Country, West Point, MOCCCII U.S.M.A."
The back has an image of a dozing cadet and reads, "On Post In Camp" above it and "Third half hour" below it.
Measures 10 1/2"
Condition: No chips, cracks or crazing that I can see.
