A one-of-a-kind altered vintage plate from the Fragments of Grace collection by Nancy’s Daily Dish.

No. 41 — Snowballs & Puppy Paws

This delightful vintage Spode Snowball Games plate captures the innocent joy of a Victorian winter afternoon, as three bundled-up children enjoy a spirited snowball fight with their faithful little dog joining in the fun. The charming blue transferware scene is beautifully framed by a festive border of holly leaves and berries, giving it all the nostalgia of an old-fashioned Christmas. I reimagined the plate with three sparkling jeweled snowflakes (which were once brooches)  nestled among the holly, as though a little of the winter magic has drifted right off the snowy scene and onto the rim.

Part of Fragments of Grace: The Beautifully Broken Collection, this one-of-a-kind piece celebrates the simple joys that make life beautiful — laughter, companionship, and the wonder of an ordinary moment. It is a gentle reminder that God's grace is found not only in restoration after difficult seasons, but also in the happiness, playfulness, and little blessings we sometimes forget to notice along the way.
