ANTIQUE LAVENDER PERIWINKLE TRANSFER WARE BOWL
~perfectly sized for soup, pastas, salads...has a 3/4" rim

For consideration is this gorgeous bowl by the Swedish porcelain factory Rorstrand.  It dates to the early 19th century and features a lush Venetian garden scene. It has an embossed scrolled rim.

Rörstrand was founded in the castle of Rörstrand in Stockholm 1726 under the direction of Johann Wolff, a German porcelain maker. This makes Rörstrand the second oldest brand of ceramics in Europe (after Meissen, 1709). The production at Rörstrand was first made in faience. The first decors were in cobalt blue, inspired by porcelain from China and other foreign countries. Porcelain became more available to everyone - before this, food was served mostly on metal plates. By 1800, much of the wares produced by Rorstrand were often inspired the English transferware technique of transfer printing. The motives were often landscapes, English or from more exotic regions, like Turkey, in blue.
