Staffordshire Two Color Brown & Yellow Transferware Plate
Cauldon Potteries
Great Britain / Made In England
Yellow transferware is the rarest of all colors and two color transfers are even rarer paired with another color. This beautiful brown and yellow transfer printed plate dates to about 1892-1910 and was made by the Cauldon Pottery. The dish has a pretty vine and floral motif' with birds fluttering amongst the flowers. The yellow transfer is a small calico print which encompasses the entire background on the plate. It is painted by hand with shades of red, blue, and green. So very pretty and cheerful color combination!
