Jenny Lind
Royal Staffordshire Pottery
For consideration I am offering this stunning brown transferware salad / dessert plate in the pattern 'Jenny Lind' by Royal Staffordshire of Burslem England. This is one of the most beautiful scenic patterns ever produced on transferware. The scene depicts a group of people in an Alpine setting seen viewing the distant castle through a telescope.
The brown transfer has been hand painted with highlights in red, green, blue and gold\/taupe.
Truly a wonderful find for your collection!

Johanna Maria Lind better known as Jenny Lind, was a Swedish-born opera singer, often known as the "Swedish Nightingale". She is known for her performances in soprano roles in Sweden and Europe, as well as for an extraordinarily popular tour of America beginning in 1850 promoted by P T Bailey (Barnum & bailey), and for her philanthropic work. Her fame garnered many commemorative items of which many still are produced and named after her today.
I am listing lots of transferware and Staffordshire items. Please take a look as I am happy to combine shipments.
