1893 Antique 2 Gallon Clear Glass English Edwardian RUM Barrel Pub / Bar

$359.99 $299.99

Brand Royal Staffordshire

This unusual liquor keg is Attributable to  E. Coaney & Co. of Birmingham England, circa 1893, came to me from an English couple who are downsizing and had it displayed in their home for over 50 years.

This fantastic spirits barrel dates to the Late Victorian era and is an extremely rare form being clear glass with gold banding and black lettering.  The barrel has its British registration number etched into the top which dates it to 1893

This is as large as any of the antiques spirits barrels I've had the pleasure of buying and selling.

It would be perfect converted into a lamp or used as display
These are relatively hard to come by as many didn't survive over the years.

Measures: 13 3/8" tall x appx 12" wide x 7 1/2" deep

Holds 2+ gallons

Condition: Great for age, no chips with exception to some shallow, smooth ones at the top opening.  There are a couple of marks/scratches here and there and some expected wear to the gold trim and black lettering

Marked: etched into the top: Reg No. 217651

interior photos:  Charles Faudree via Traditional Home converts a similar, smaller English barrel into a lamp for a bar

Last photo: Gail Clairidge converts a pair of the same kind, though different scene, into lamps for a sideboard.
