James Kent "Old Foley" The Way to Wealth - Wise Sayings Black Transferware Plate 5

Brand James Kent

This is a vintage black transferware plate produced by James Kent as part of a series of plates titled "The Way to Wealth - Wise Sayings".  I have six different plates in this series and they are all adorable.

This particular one depicts a cobbler busy at work on a street corner in town whilst a woman does laundry behind him.  Captioned below is:

"He that hath a trade hath an estate.  At the working man's house hunger looks in but dares not enter.  Industry pays debts while despair increases them"

 Collect all six!

Plate condition is great with no chips or cracks.  Little, if any, crazing. There is some chip loss to the red paint around the outer rim so I've discounted this one by a few dollars.
